Question
I recently obtained 2 bills, neither in mint condition.  One is a 1928 B signed by Woods and Mellon; the other a 1934 signed by what appears to be Julian and Morganthau, Jr.  Are either of these worth more than face value?  Both have creases, although years of being in a book has straightened them nicely.  Thanks! ~Alana

Answer
Hello Alana,

Paper money is not my field but I can give you some information on these notes.

1928 B $20 signed by Woods and Mellon Boston;
This is a more valuable note if it has the * (star)  in the serial number but with no star and  with only 1 fold but still crisp and clean its value ranged from $30 to $40 retail to a Paper Money Collector.

1934 signed by what appears to be Julian and Morganthau;
This note is a more common issue to find at this time and with one fold you may get only $30 tops.

Condition is critical for the note collecting there are a lot of factors that serious collectors look for like the remaining contrast, how crisp the paper is, how well centered the design is etc…

As I said I am not an expert on paper money but please remember to rate this answer. And check the nomination box on the rating page below any comments you may have.

Thank You and Good Luck
