Question
Hi i recently found a $10 roll of quarters, i was about to use them for laundry but i noticed that they were shinier than most quarters and they were all dated 1964. I read in one of your other answers that they are worth $2 each. Where can i take these quarters to get them sold? And is it worth my time to sell them or should i just use them for laundry?

Answer
Matt,

Let's think about this.  If you use them for laundry, it's $10

If you sell them for silver you will probably get close to $100

Open your yellow pages and find a local coin dealer.  Call him and ask what he is paying for 1964 quarters.  It should be between $2 and $2.50 each

I would say it is worth the time to sell them for silver.
