Question
i have come across some old foreign coins...1776 - 1890's....can you advise me as to how to find their value?

Answer
Hello Molly,

I am not a foreign coin collector and do not have catalogs on them.
Complete information can be found in a volume of The STANDARD CATALOG of WORLD COINS, your library should have a copy in the reference section.
It will have all the information you asked for like the metal used in the coin, the mintage and approximate values.
For its actual retail value you will need a grade and current price list. But once you have identified a coin in the catalog do an eBay search for completed items will help you get the current market value for the coin you entered in the search.

There are other experts here that are more up on foreign coins than I am.
Sorry I cannot be more help.
Thank You and Good Luck
