Question
I recently found a 1930 Standing Liberty twenty-five cent piece. There is a marking of "M" in the lower right front of the coin where, today there is a mint stamp. Can you please let me know what this means?

Answer
Hello Debbie,

Herman MacNeil is the designer of this coin and it is his initial M is located above and to the right of the date. The Mint mark, if any is located is to the left of the date and would be an S. No quarters were made at Denver in 1930.

Good Luck
