Question
Hi I have an American silver dollar dated 1880 however when you reverse it the back is upside down I wondered if all the dollars of that date were the same.  Thanks for your help.

Everything depends on which way you are flipping the coin.

If you hold the coin at the sides and flip it top-to-bottom, the images should remain right-side-up -- this is known as a "coin flip".

If you hold the coin at the top & bottom and flip it side-to-side, the image on the back side should be up-side-down -- this is known as a "medal flip".

If you do a "coin flip" with your coin, and the back side image is up-side-down, then you may have a rotated reverse error -- worth perhaps $100 -- but you would need to take it to an expert to examine it first hand to check for alterations.  You can check the following websites for listings of local coin shows, where you can take it to be examined :
