Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1907 INDIAN HEAD PENNY

Question
I have a 1907 Indian Head penny.  It appears to be in good condition.  It is tarnished (not bright).

Can you tell me anything about the  history of the coin and it's current value?

I also have various silver dollars of various years.  Are they worth only the $1.00 or are they worth more?

Your assistance is very much appreciated.

Answer
Jean,

History of the Indian Head Cent can be found here :

Value in circulated condition is about a dollar.

Any silver dollar dated 1935 or older will be worth at least $12.00 for the silver it contains -- more if in excellent condition or if from a rare date.

Eisenhower dolars from the 1970's will be worth more than a dollar if they are either the silver versions (most are not) or are S-mint proofs.

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
