Coin and Paper Money Collecting/steel penny

Question
Is there a way to clean my steel pennies without reducing their value?

Answer
The simple answer is no.  You might be able to use a solvent that doesn't change color or affect the luster, such as acetone (but be careful it is a dangerous chemical) or some other solvent just to clean (or clean with soap and water) to remove dirt, but if your piece is uncirculated, you'll almost certainly do some damage or put some marks on the coins (like fingerprints, your hands contain oil) that'll reduce value.  Jim Lawniczak
