Question

1992 silver D dime
I had found a 1992 dime that appears to be a misprint the strangest part is the fact that the dime appears to be completely silver with round edge. I was hoping you might know the value of such a coin?

Answer
Patrick,

There is no price guide for something like this.  If it had an "S" mintmark, it could be explained as a circulated silver proof coin.  But with a "D" mintmark, it's most likely a well-worn coin that has been silver plated.  In either case, value is a dollar or less.

You might try finding a local coin show (see www.coinshows.com or www.coinworld.com) and have it examined first-hand.

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
