Question
hi Jim i have a 1925 penny in excellent condition, could you tell me how much its worth to sell and how much for insurance. i also have a 1937 crown same question but should the coins be cleaned. your help would be greatly respected.

Answer
Warren, first do not clean coins, you can't improve their condition and could easily substantially reduce it and value.  Second value of coins varies substantially based on condition. The 1925 U.S. cent is only worth much more than face value if it is uncirculated.  Try going to www.ebay.com and going a search for 1925 cent or 1925 penny and see what is for sale.  The higher condition coins will be "slabbed," that is certified by third party grading services as to grade (condition).  You will see what these pieces are selling for.  I am not familiar with a 1937 crown (what jurisdiction?), but try a similar search at either www.ebay.com or www.google.com, Jim Lawniczak
