Coin and Paper Money Collecting/About that Indian Head...

Question
Here is a quote out of the answer you gave me:

"The 1908 Indian cent with no mint mark sells from $1 in grade 4 to $7 in grade 50. However a 1908 with the S mint mark sells from $40 in grade 4 to $150 in grade 50. The Mint Mark Letter if any will be located below the bow in the wreath on the back of the coin."

Before I asked you about this coin I tried to research it. I didnt dif too deep, but Im pretty sure that I read that the coin normally has no sheild over the wreath. Mine does have the sheild and all of the lines are still in detail and are not rubbed down. And, also, I didnt even realize in the headband the word "liberty"! Wow. All of the letters are visible except just at the very edge of the Y its worn down a tiny bit. Anywho, my question is:
Is the penny with the sheild worth more that with out the sheild??? Thanks and I hope I dsont bother you too much with this subject!!!!

Answer

Indian Head cent
Hello again Kim,

Only the 1859 US Cent did not have a shield on the reverse at the top of the wreath.
And only the 1908 and 1909 issues had coins produced at the San Francisco mint (using an S mint-mark) as well as the Philadelphia mint where all the others were produced with no mint mark.

I am trying to send an image along with this answer to clarify the position of both features.
