Question
I have a nickle dated 1939 and it has no mint on it Let me know what this is worth. Thank you

Answer
Rick, value depends greatly on condition.  But unless your nickel is uncirculated (looks and is just as it was minted back in 1939, completely preserved), it will have very little (if anything) over face value.  The Jefferson nickel series is not that popular a series and this nickel was pretty common.  Try going to www.ebay.com and doing a search for 1939 nickel and you should see some for sale and can see pricing and compare the pictures to your piece.  Please don't do anything to try to improve condition, like cleaning.  You can't do it and you will very likely reduce value, perhaps quite a bit.  Jim Lawniczak
