QUESTION: Hi Brad,

I was browsing on the internet about Moroccan coins and I chose you
first...could you please tell me what's the current value of the attached coins?
Thanks and regards,
Marcello

ANSWER: Hi Marcello, there were 2 types of these large gold 50 Dirham coins featuring king Hassan (1962-99) minted that year. One with the national arms on the back and the other with a hand symbolizing International Women's Year. The first had a mintage of only 40 and the second of only 20. They both contain 1.7404 of an ounce of gold. There may not be that much collector demand to give much premium above their gold value though.
You may find similar pieces on Ebay.com for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.

QUESTION: H iBrad,
Thanks for your reply...however my coins are in silver, not gold...I attach
more photos..
Do I understand that there is no premium above their silver value?
Thanks and regards,
Marcello

Answer
Hi Marcello, the same designs in silver contain 1.04 of an ounce of silver. There were 6000 Uncirculated versions minted of each design and worth about $30 and 4400 Proof versions each worth about $50.
The photo attached looks to be of a Papal medal.
