Question Hi, my great uncle helped instal all the mint machines for the new Korean minting presses in 1966 (I think he worked for cincinnati milling machines). I have several of each denomination 1, 5, 10 in perfect condition, a few have small finger marks but otherwise full and brilliant lustre. I also have a set of three in a heat sealed bag from the mint, and an envelope with writing on from the mint master in korean (the envelope is a bank of korea one)
I have at least 3 of each coin. Do you know how much they would be worth, and who might be interested? Thanks
Answer Hi Ben, collector value depends on amount of wear and collector demand.
These South Korean 1, 5 and 10 Won coins are very competitively sought after when they are in top condition. You may find similar pieces on Ebay.com for comparison and also find that site the best place to offer them for sale.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
