Question
in change today i got a mis-stamp/marked 1974 dime:there it was hanging of the side a bit with few minor dents the head was a little bigger then normal and parts of "in god we trust" are of the side can you help me find the value to this dime thank you , Erik.

Answer
Hi Erik,

If the coin is still round, it was struck off-center.  If the coin is no longer round, this is known as elongated.
Elongated can occur in many ways.  I remember as a kid placing a coin on the train tracks and waiting for the train to run it over, this resulted in an elongated coin, although the details were a bit smeared.
Either way, these are minor errors and usually trade for between $2 and $10 each
