Question
This coin is 1 and 1/8 inch in dia, has a bust of Geo. Wash. and the dates 1786 1st president 1797 on each side. It is crudely made and has a hole punched in the top edge. I would like to know some thing about it, as well as the value. Thanks George

Answer
Hello George,

This is not a coin but likely a medal. It comes under a listing as WASHINGTONIA being on of the many medals made to commemorate his life (and death).

If you do not have an expert actually seeing the item it can not be properly evaluated. It may be a modern reproduction or one of the presidential series medals and just plated.

Here is a page to look at for a start:

Try comparing your specimen with some of these. Write me again if you still think it is a coin

Sorry I can't help more with this item.

Here is a similar design but the image does not seem to be struck as high as yours looks
