Question
Ok, i was counting money at work today and i always look for weird coins to give to my dad and today i found a silver peace dollar from 1922, i didn't think anything of it till i started looking at it more and i realized that trust in In God We Trust is spelled with a v like "In God We Trvst" i was wondering if this is a rare one or if there is more like it out there, and how much do you think it would be worth?

Answer
Hello Kelsey,

The 1922 coin is a PEACE DOLLAR. Named for the eagle on the reverse resting on a rock with the word PEACE below. Most USA coins have the Eagle ready for war known as the Heraldic Eagle Design.

The letter U was not in the ancient alphabet and V was always used in its place. The Classic spelling of TRVST is correct on the coin. The Medalic artist chose the Older Spelling for stylistic purposes.

The coin was designed by Anthony DeFrancisci and his initials are at the bottom of the bust of Lady Liberty. Here are some images of the coin. (Front and back)

And as for a value;
Collectors have devised a numerical grading system for coins. It goes from 1 to 70. With 1 on the coin scale being barely identifiable as a coin and 70 being the imaginary perfect coin. Coins taken from circulation usually fall between grade 8-VG (very Good) and grade 50 (AU Almost Uncirculated).

For your 1922 DOLLAR COIN -  These are 90% silver dollars and sell in circulated condition, from $13.00 dollars each to about $20.00. Also note they were made at different mints and that makes them vary in price.
If you let me know the Mint Marks if any Grade and condition of the coins I can be of more help. The mint Mark will be on the reverse (back) of the coin between the rays below the letter "0" in the word ONE (if there is a Mint Mark at all).  The D, S marks are similar in value for this year.

If it is Uncirculated (Mint State 65 to 70) it sells for much more.
Also note these coins were produced in the MILLIONS.  And 1922 dollar coins are still readily available in all grades, thus the low prices for all the circulated specimens.
