Hello,

a friend game me a 1895 Morgan silver dollar to evaluate, only because I know slightly more about coins than him, but am no expert, especially on American Coins. It has the CC (Carson City) mint marks. All the mintage info I have seen show the last minting of Morgan Dollars at the CC mint as being in year 1893. Is there any possibility of CC minting in 1895? And what do we have here, and what is the value? Condition looks to be around F to VF.

Any light you could shine on this would be greatly appreciated.

You have one of many Chinese counterfeits -- they've been doing this for years, making fake coins with both correct date/mints and also impossible combinations, like a Seated Dollar obverse muled with a Trade Dollar reverse, or mintmarks on coins from mints that were not in operation at the time of the date on the coin.

Anyhow, the value of your coin is minimal, perhaps $5.00 as a novelty item, or a little more if it actually contains any silver.
