Coin and Paper Money Collecting/mistamped nichol

Question
I have a nichol that I got out of a brandnew roll of nichols in approx. 1988.  The only part that got stamped on it was about 1/8 of the edge.  The rest of it never recieved a stamp.  Just enough of it to tell what it is.  The nichol is smooth with the exception of that small amout on the edge.  How much would this be worth?  Thank you!

Answer
I assume you're referring to U.S. nickels that have no date but are minted extremely off center.  They can be quite desirable but are not so uncommon as to have a very high premium.  These are probably worth around $1-$10+.  If any have dates, they'd be worth even more.  You'll need to take these to a coin show and show them around to dealers that deal in errors for a better idea of value.

Expertise

I specialize in U.S. three-cent nickels, but also close behind them are U.S. two-cent pieces, three-cent silver, and twenty cent pieces. Also, I have a bit of experience in the area of U.S. Early Proofs (19th century). However, I can possibly assist in most questions regarding U.S. Type coins.

Experience

I have read virtually everything I can find in print on the areas of U.S. 2-3-20 cent pieces. I have written articles on three-cent coins and Early Proofs published (or will be published) in Coin World.
