Coin and Paper Money Collecting/strange coin

Question
Hi, have got a coin, very thin and on the front it has the head of a portly man with what looks like either feathers, or a laurel wreath round his head.  Written around is 'GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA.' On the back has a shield which is quarterd with a crown on top and written around it is 'IN MEMORY OF THE GOOD OLD DAYS.' The date is 1768. The edge of the coin is grooved.  Is it a coin of the realm, and is it worth anything?
Thanks

Answer
Hello, Anne, sounds like you have a token that, if authentic, was made in the mid 1700s.  George III was King of England at the time of the American revolution.

There was a series of these made around the time and they are called Condor tokens.  Below is a site about them.  Look around and see if you can see your piece.

Also you can try going to www.ebay.com and do a search for Condor tokens, perhaps narrowing it to George III Condor tokens or the like and see if you like yours is up for sale.
