Coin and Paper Money Collecting/1943 wheat penny

Question
What does the mark just below the 9 & 4 mean
on a wheat penny, I have a bunch of wheat pennies
but only one has that mark.

Answer
Hello Brenda,

The Lincoln Cent was minted at all 3 United States Mints.
Only the Denver and San Francisco Mints have a Mint Mark letter below the date.

There is an upper case "D" or "S" there just below the 9 & 4.  The Philadelphia cents have no mint mark to this day. So your other coins were produced at the Philadelphia Mint.

If you need more information please write me again.

I hope this information helps and have a happy Fourth of July Holiday.

Thank you
PapaJack
