Answer
Hello Sandra,

Gold is hard to follow most dealers do not document the sale they make and the catalog prices all say to cal and request a quote.

I was able to look up the past ten sets that sold on eBay and they ranged from 1,690 to 1,966 in the past 30 days.  Yet there were two other sets for only $1,500.00 Sep 17 and 23 but did not sell at this level perhaps there is not enough play in the economy to invest in gold this week.

The $1,750 to $1,800 seems like the average selling price at this time. For value this is just over the bullion value at today’s $882 per ounce price. And this is where the Un-Circulated coins usually sell not the proof set.

Please, let me know if I can be of any more help.

Thank You and Good Luck
