Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Best Coin Investments Today?

Question
Joe: I am interested in getting back into coin collecting if it looks like a good investment vs Real Estate or Stocks. What, do you believe, are the best type of coins to invest in today? Coins that are low risk, rare, with high ($) growth potential? Thanks, Jim.

Answer
Hi Jim,

GOOD QUESTION!

Sounds crazy to hear this coming from a coin dealer but....

I think the high grade, high price coins will level off or drop due to the current financial markets.  A lot of these beter pieces were acquired by people who don't have the capital to hold on for the long run, there will be some good bargains out there.

For now, I would buy krugerrands because that is what the world wants now.  Ride it up and when the rare coins come down, swap into them.  Unless you can hold the rare coins for 10-15 years, in my opinion, now is not the time for them.  As finances get tigheter, people don't buy collectibles, they liquidate them.

I handle both so if you want to give me a call, 800-474-6960 is the number
