Coin Collecting - 1754 V coin unknown.

Question
Hi,

I picked this coin up in a pile of junk coins at the flea market. I have no idea where to even start looking for information in this Coin. It is dated 1754. It has a shield with 2 lions and crown on one side and on the other a larger V with the letters O C intersecting it the date of 1754 on the bottom and what looks like a chicken between 2 dots on the top. (see photo). Any idea of what this is or what it is worth?

Answer
This copper coin looks like the coinage of 1721 and 1722 authorized by an edict of french King Louis XV, but these were dated only 1721 and 1722, for use in colonial New France (North America). I'm not an expert on this but the coin is either French or French Colonial, my first choice, or from Sweden or Swedish Colonial for use use in the Far East. That is where I would start to look.
