Question
Dear Mr. Dmitry

I have a Coin writen on one side DEUTSCH OSTAFRIKA 1906 and other side 1-Heller surrounded with leaves.
Please let me know these coin belongs to which country and what's the present value.

Sandip

Answer
Hi Sandip,
This is a German coin from the East Africa colony, also known as the Tanganyika territory.
The 1906-J is one of the harder to find dates, with less than 2 million coins minted. The current market value starts at $3-$5 for a decent coin with a good amount of wear. High grade coins go in the $15-$25 range and a coin in mint condition sells for $30 or more.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
