Question
Please give me any idea about the worth of a 1895 "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE" coin and the other side "INDO CHINA.........900 POIDS......"NGN

Answer
Hi Robert,
There are several denominations that fir this description... the 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent and one piastre (dollar). These are from the French colony in modern-day Laos, Cambodia and Annam. All of these are scarce and valuable coins. Below I've included a range from well circulated to mint condition for all of these denominations. I have also included the reference weight, as there are many counterfeits of these coins in existence.
If you want to post a follow-up question with a picture of your coin, I can give you more specific information on the value.

10 cents (2.7 grams) - $25 to $200+
20 cents (5.4/5.5 grams) - $35 to $325
50 cents (13.6 grams) - $60 to $500+
Piastre (27.2 grams) - $20 to $300

If you weigh the coin, please note that one with significant wear will be a couple tenths of a gram lighter. A coin that is a gram or more under weight is likely not authentic.
I hope that this information is enough to answer your question. If not, feel free to ask a follow-up.

Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
