Question
Hello Dmitri,
I bought thru Ebay action the Liechtenstein, Krone, 1900, Choice AU-Unc.(220486668479). Here was a description and links of images are in the end of the letter. I bought for my father who is coin collector but he lives in Israel. I spoke to him over the phone and he told that it may be fake coin because he cannot find anything about it in the Catalog. I should receive it soon in a mail,  but before sending it to my father (in case it is fake) I can return the coin back to seller. Please advise. Thank you very much. Valeri.
"This is a beautiful piece, with frosty surfaces and some light toning. I will be conservative in the grading and not call it a full Uncirculated, but many probably would. The coin is silver and contains .1342 troy ounces of pure silver. You can get a better view by supersizing the pictures.

Answer
Hi Valeri,
That is a very nice coin, one that I am still looking to add to my own collection. I have no doubt that it is a fully authentic and original piece. The seller you bought it from, marketconduct, is someone that I'm familiar with and have dealt with before. He has a good reputation.
This coin can be found in the 1801-1900 Krause catalog of world coins, it is Y #2. This is a low mintage type, with only 50,000 coins minted. The book value in that condition is right around what you paid, however these often sell above book value. I would say you got a good deal on a coin that is sure to appreciate in value over the coming years.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
