About Dan Moore Expertise My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library,
and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just
about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current
price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So,
with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value
any U.S. coin you have.
Experience I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.

Question QUESTION: In my new 2009 Philadelphia mint set, one of the cents, the formative years, is packaged with the John Tyler presidential dollar...leaving the cent coin holder empty. Does this hinder the value of my set or increase the value of my set.
ANSWER: Denis,
If you can find an interested buyer, you can probably get a few extra bucks for the set. Try putting it on eBay with some good pictures and see what happens.
Good luck!
Dan

QUESTION: so basically you're saying you don't know....just see if I can get a buyer who is willing to pay more than purchase price. I'm not interested at this time in selling. Just curious if this error makes the set more valuable or not.
Answer Denis,
Generally speaking, it will make the set slightly more valuable, but it will take some work to find an interested buyer. It's basically just a packaging error -- a quality control thing -- so there will be few interested collectors.
