Question
I came across a collection of thirty two commemerative coins...ranging from a 20 baht silver coin (dated 1966)to a one stangtin coin...was wondering what the value of this collection might be?  The coins appear to have been un circulated...and are in a protective case apparently designed for this collection.

Many thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Michele,
This sounds like a set that was privately put together. Official mint sets typically have less than 10 coins.
As such, its value lies in the sum of the individual coins. The 1966 silver 20 baht in mint condition sells fro around $20. If you ask a follow-up with the specifics of the other coins, I can give you all their market values.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
