Question
Dear sir,

May I know what is the value of Straits Settlement King Edward VII 1903 $1 silver coin in VF condition now in the coins market?

I have one KE VII 1903 silver $1 coin with Chinese impressed stamp mark believed from old Chinese merchant. Will the impressed mark distort the selling price in future?

Awaiting reply.

Best regards
Dominic

Answer
There are 2 varieties of this date.  The 1903B cam eith a raised mintmark and an incuse mintmark.
The incuse (set in) is common and worth about $15-20.  The raised mintmark is worth $50-100

The counterstamps definitely affect the value in a negative way.  Depending upon how many and where they are is important.
