Question
I have an 1874 indian gold mohur coin made of 24 carat gold , it weighs appx. 5 gms. what is the value of it today if i wanted to sell it?

Answer
Hi Farah, it is likely a fake. A genuine 22 karat (.917 fine) gold Mohur featuring Queen Victoria (1837-1901) should weigh 11.66 grams and would contain .3438 of an ounce of gold. None were made dated 1874.
