Question

Hi Brad,
I have an 1870 "diez centimo" coin. I was wondering if you could identify who the woman on the rock is she looks like a british "Britannia" and also on the reverse is a lion standing on a shield.

Regards

Ged

Answer
Hi Ged, the Spanish version, Hispania, is featured on this copper coin. There were 170 million minted that one year and collector value may be worth about .20 with heavy wear to around $20 with moderate wear to maybe $125 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
