Question
Dear Brad:

I have an 1892 Prussian zwei mark in AU-58 condition.  What can you tell me about this coin and its value?

               Respectfully,

               Timothy

Answer
Hi Timothy, There were 182,000 of these Prussian 2 Mark coins minted that year in Berlin (A) featuring King Wilhelm II (1888-1918). This coin should weigh 11.111 grams and would contain .2215 of an ounce of silver.
Collector value may be worth about $20 with heavy wear to around $175 with moderate wear (VF) to maybe $400 with light wear (XF) to perhaps $1000 if Uncirculated depending on amount of collector demand.
You might try Ebay.com for similar pieces for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
