Coin and Paper Money Collecting/2 1/2 Dollar Gold Coin

Question
Hi Joe! I was checking the net for some information on some old coins passed on by my grandmother, mother and father and found your answer to a prior question regarding the gold coins. I have 2 of them. The first is the 1853 coin which does show that it was minted in Dahlonega, GA. I also have one dated 1909 which doesn't have a letter for where it was minted. Can you give me the value of both of these? They are in good condition. I would say great condition,  but my grandmother had them mounted in gold frames to wear on a bracelet. She didn't have any holes or anything put in them.  I also have an 1858 half dime in good condition. Several other coins as well. But I will stop with this for now. I would appreciate any information you might be able to give me.

Thank you so much!
Beverly

Answer
Hello Beverly,
Having the coins mounted for jewelry purposes, does detract from the value.  However, the 1853 is still quite valuable.  Without seeing it, I would say that it is worth a minimum of $800 but that could go much higher upon inspection.
The 1909 is more common.  They trade for between $250 and $350
The half dime is worth anywhere from $7 and up.
