Coin and Paper Money Collecting/CSA 50 cent coin

Question
A couple of years ago I acquired a CSA 50 cent piece by chance. The front of the coin is the same as the Confederate penny with the lady's head from the neck up, with her left side showing. On the front around the edge it reads, "CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA" with a print date of 1862. Centered on the back are the words 50 CENTS, with the cornucopia three quarter reef surrounding it.
Is there anything you can tell me about this coin, like for instance origin or authenticity. I've been trying to find something about it online, but have failed to find anything that resembles it. Thanks

Answer
Hi Joe, this is a modern replica or fantasy piece which actually is not similar to the very few actual pieces that were originally made and only dated 1861. It has no real collector value except as a curiosity.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Guidebook of United States Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
