Question
My granddad used to find coins when he worked in friend's gardens, and one he found was of particular interest to me. It is approximately 27mm across and is silver. It was made in 1976, and has writing which I assume is arabic. On one side of the coin is a man, facing left with 1976 underneath him, and some writing. on the other side is a 1 in the bottom centre, more writing around the edge and an image of a woman facing right, arm outstretched, and flowers in the background. It is pretty good condition. Please help me learn more about this interesting coin as i am very confused. Thank you, Fiona.

Answer
Hi Fiona, There were 12 million of these copper-nickel Tunisia 1 Dinar coins minted that year featuring President Bourguiba.
Collector value may be worth about $1 with heavy wear to around $2 with moderate wear to maybe $4 with light wear.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
