Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Copper and Nickel coins

Question
Can you tell me how long a copper and nickel coin would last and which metal should be on the outside-copper or nickel.
Which is more reactive?
How much would it be worth? 50 cents?

Answer
Hi Ava, copper-nickel is an alloy of the two metals which has a shiny silver color and shows no sign of the copper. The U.S. 5 cents coin is made of copper-nickel, 75% nickel and 25% copper. That is the most popular alloy of the two metals and used by many countries around the world because of its wearability and cost to produce.
