Answer

Norway 8sk
Hi Kenny,
Your have an early 8 skilling coin from Norway. There were many dates in the 1640's and 1650's. I have attached a picture of a similar type from the 1640's.
These coins are scarce and desirable, especially for Scandinavian collectors. Even in very rough condition with some legends obliterated, this coin is still worth around $50. If you plan on selling it, eBay is your best venue. You would need to allow international bidders to participate, since most of the higher bidders would be Scandinavian.
Please don't forget to rate this answer.
Thanks for the question! =)

PS: I am very sorry, but the picture is not showing up. This website must be having some sort of technical issues. Again I apologize for the site's shortcomings.

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
