Question
I have gold coin 1787 with a standing soldier holding a spear in his right and a bundle of arrow in his left. The coin has "Concordia.Res.Par.Cres.Tra" surround the soldier. Any idea what country issued or what unit value is represented or what market value it may have? Thanks for your thought

Answer
Hi Uuk, it seems to be a gold Ducat from the Dutch province of Utrecht. It should weigh 3.50 grams and would contain .1109 ounce of gold. It may be worth about $165 with heavy wear to around $185 with medium wear to maybe $300 with light wear depending on price of gold, amount of wear and collector demand. Fakes do exist so weighing it is important.

You might try Ebay.com for similar items for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for lots more info, pics and values.
