Coin Collecting - Two Headed Quarter

Expert: Jim Lawniczak - 11/7/2009

Question
When at a restaurant about 3 months ago I received a 2-headed quarted with my change.  Since there is no tail side we do not have a date.  Do you know if this coin could be a mis-print?  How can we find out.

Thank You,
Eldon

Answer
Eldon, by far the most likely rationale for this is that you have a "magician" coin -- made intentionally for magic tricks.  Part of a quarter is hollowed out and another coin put into it.  You can tell this happened by looking at the edge and seeing a seam, Jim Lawniczak
