Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Korean paper money

Question
My name is Elizabeth and I was wondering if you could answer a question for me.  My Dad recently passed away and going through his things I found an old folded up 1000 won from the Bank of Korea.  The serialized number on it is 511.  I don't know who the picture is that is on the front.  My Dad was in the Korean war.  How would I find out if it is of any worth?

Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.
Thanks much,
Elizabeth

Answer
Hi Elizabeth, Collector value of a note depends on date and condition, including amount of wear, any folds, tears or stains as well as collector demand.
What color is the note? If you have pictures (not over 1 megabyte each please) you can email them to me at tbirde@psknet.com.

You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
