Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Tokens
Expert: PAPAJACK - 11/16/2009
QuestionQUESTION: I have an older new york city subway token is it valuable?
ANSWER: Hello Jon,
These transportation tokens are not my field. I am sure they are collected by many. Their value might be less than $10 dollars each usually selling for $3 to $7 depending on the condition and how old they are. If they are very recent times they are only worth a little as they have been no longer used by the Metro and disposed of by the millions for scrap metal.
Keep looking under "Tokens, Transportation" for some more collectors and other information.

QUESTION: Thanks so much for your help. Where can I find these tokens on the web?
ANSWER: Hello again,
You should try contacting the Token and Medal Society (TAMS).
http://www.money.org/clubs/tams/index.html
They usually are able to help. As I said if it is modern and plentiful in all grades since they were removed from use. (Most were sold as scrap metal).
