Question
Hi,
I have a frnch coin with the Dix Gentime A inscribed on it with the head of Napoleon on it. My coin however opens like a locket and inside is the picture of Tsar nicholas II (original photo)
any ideas?
the condition of the coin is very worn but visible.
Thanx

Answer
Hi Warren, If a coin has been damaged by becoming part of jewelry or cannot be separated from the jewelry then its value is not as a coin but as part of the jewelry.
Value of a coin depends on Denomination (10 centimes), Date (?), Mintmark (A=Paris) as well as amount of wear and amount of collector demand.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for lots more info, pics and values.
