Question
How much are the estimated values for the following Straits Settlements Coins :

One dollar, King & Emperor Edward VII, 1906 (Round coin)
One cent, Queen Victoria, 1901 (Round coin)

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Pek, there were 15.23 million of the 1901 1 cent coins minted that year featuring Queen Victoria (1837-1901). It may be worth about .50 with heavy wear to around $15 with medium wear to maybe $100 U.S. with light wear.
There were no 1906 coins made so if that is the date it is a fake.
Counterfeits mass produced in East Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe abound of Chinese and U.S. coins, and many other countries'.
Most counterfeits weigh up light, are grayish, may have a weakly struck look to appear worn, look cleaned or antiqued and may have a dull or grainy surface.

You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
