Question
I have a 1943 one cent from United states of America > my grandfather who was in the war brought it back with him, I tried the magnet and it does stick. Is is worth anything?
Thank you
Darlene

Answer
Hi Darlene, these 1943 1 cent coins were zinc coated steel that one year in order to save copper for the war effort in WWII. With any wear it is worth about $1 or less.
Collector value of a coin depends on date, denomination, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Guidebook of United States Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
