Coin Collecting - french 10 francs silver coins

Expert: Dmitry Livshits - 11/9/2009

Question
Hi,i have recently bought six silver french 10 francs coins dated 1929,30,31,32,33 and 38,could you please tell me the silver content of these coins,
kind regards David.

Answer
Hi David,
These coins are each 10 grams of .680 silver, which is .2186 ounces of actual silver weight (right about 6.2 grams). Please note that a coin with wear will be a couple tenths of a gram lighter. These are common dates and have only silver value in well circulated condition. Coins with only slight wear are worth about double the bullion value, while ones in mint condition run about 3-4 times bullion.
Please don't forget to rate this answer.
Thanks for the question! =)
