Question
Hello Brad can you please help I have a number of old coins one of which is dated 1707 it is I think a penny or half penny in bronze or copper it measures 3.5 cms and has the face of the king pointed right with Britannia on the back sitting on a shield the markings on the face have goergi then either o or u after this it is difficult to see the 111 could be 11 or 111 then d.g. rex on the reverse is just about possible to see Britannia but can make out the date which is 1707 so from this info is it possible for you to say what coin I have here and if so what would be its value
Thanks Steve

Answer
Hi Steve, 35 millimeters would be the size of a penny but monarchs Queen Anne reigned 1702-14, George I (1714-27), George II (1727-60) and George III (1760-1820). If the date is 1770 then I can tell you more but not a 1707. No 1707 copper coins were made at all.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for lots more info, pics and values.
