Question

hong kong 10 dollar no
I have a ten dollar note that says The Chartered Bank across the top of the front and Hong Kong in smaller print towards the bottom. It says "promise to pay the bearer on demand at it's office here" at the top and then continues under the ten dollars "or the equivalent in the Currency of the Colony value received. There is some kind of symbol in the middle and a high rise image to the left. On the back is a scene of the harbor with all kinds of boats. The back just has The Chartered Bank across the top and Ten Dollars at the bottom.
Any information (date, value, etc.)would be extremely appreciated as I can't seem to find any information on this piece. Thank you in advance!!

Answer
Hi Vicki, this undated British HK $10 note was issued 1970-75 and may be worth about $2-$5 depending on amount of collector demand with that amount of wear.
You might try Ebay.com for similar items for comparison.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money for lots more info, pics and values.
