Question
i want to know the present value of straits settlement malaysian coin. year-1908.one cent, ruler- Edward vii king and emperor.

Answer
Hi Nicky,
The value of this coin would depend on the condition. A well used coin is only worth a couple of dollars, while one with just a little bit of wear and full bands in Edward VII's crown is worth $15 to $20. I have sold some of these coins in the past. One in mint condition with red luster is rare and is worth around $150. These are popular coins.
If you would like to post a follow up question with a picture of your coin, I can give you more accurate information on the value.
Thanks for the question! =)

Expertise

My specialty is world coins from the 18th to 20th centuries, primarily non-US foreign coins and related areas such as errors and exonumia (tokens, medals, etc.). I can answer questions relating to identification, grading, selling, preservation and evaluation of such items. In addition to catalog value, I can give you the practical market value and trends for specific types of coins. I will also take questions regarding counterfeits (both modern and antique) and on how to identify them. I am NOT knowledgeable in paper money/banknotes, ancient or "shipwreck" coins. Thank you.
