Questioni was handed down a 1922 silver dollar from my dad. I wanted to know the value, and if the word trust was spelled like this [trvst], and if it is a rare coin.
AnswerHi Kenny, U.S. silver dollars weigh 26.73 grams and contain .7736 of an ounce of silver. The Peace dollar (1921-35), may have a mintmark letter by the tip of the tail.
Trust isn't misspelled in error. It is in the decorative Greco-Roman style popular at that time.
Collector value of a coin depends on date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
The 1922 dollar minted in Philadelphia without a mintmark may be worth about $14 with heavy wear to around $17 with moderate wear to maybe $20 with light wear.

Ungraded coins (raw) are worth less depending on amount of wear and collector demand.
