Question
Hi, Brad
I would like to know whether the following coins have some value if any:
Georgivs sextvs rex 3D - South Africa - 1951
Elizabeth 11 Regina 6D - South Africa - 1957
Thank you
Lesley

Answer
Hi Lesley, Collector value of a coin depends on denomination (face value), date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it.
King George VI (1936-52) 3 pence - South Africa - 1951, 6.3 million minted, .0223 of an ounce of silver, collector value may be worth about .40 with heavy wear to around .60 with moderate wear to maybe $1 with light wear.
Queen Elizabeth II (1952-) 6 pence - South Africa - 1957, 3.3 million, .0455 of an ounce of silver, .85, $1, $1.75 in same conditions as listed above.
You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
